In this touching drama, elderly couple Ethel and Norman Thayer return to their summer house on Golden Pond for the 48th year, but their solitude is disrupted by a visit from their middle-aged daughter, her fiancé and his smart-aleck teenaged son, Billy. When Ethel and Norman agree to take the teen in for the summer, their insular life on Golden Pond changes.
