About "Leading Ladies"

Cross-Dressing Comedy Caper:"Leading Ladies" by Ken Ludwig

Two struggling Shakespearean actors are touring Amish country, performing in unappreciative Moose Lodges, when the opportunity of a lifetime arises. The rumor that a rich woman on her deathbed intends to leave her fortune to her sister's long-lost children convinces these two men to become "Leading Ladies" -- sporting drag in order to fool the family and earn $2 million. But the plan starts going awry when the local reverend gets suspicious and our heroes begin to fall in love ... and just wait until the real nieces arrive in this comedy from playwright Ken Ludwig, whose "Lend Me a Tenor" was called "one of the two great farces by a living writer" by "The New York Times". "Leading Ladies"' potent blend of comedy, confusion and romantic entanglements comes to The Village Theatre courtesy of Role Players Ensemble.
