About Josh McIntosh and Jason Lynn
Joshua "Tree" McIntosh was named after the magical place where his parents played in the desert as teenagers. You can hear the southwest in his voice and in his song writing. But also the mountains and rugged coast line of Northern California where he has lived all his life.
As a young man Josh dove into the music scene fronting the acoustic rock jam outfit Blew Willie and delivering over a thousand performances all over the west. Quickly recognized for his improvisational skills as a guitarist and his powerful soul dripped vocals, McIntosh and Blew Willie made their own place in the scene with appearances on Blues Travelers H.O.R.D.E. Fest, High Sierra, and at premier west coast venues such as House of Blues LA, Great American Music Hall and Slims SF. With AAA radio support from stations like San Francisco's KFOG and reviews from jam scene mags like Relix the SF Bay Area embraced Blew Willie and it's three hour plus dance parties and quality song writing.
Fast forward 10 years to the release of Josh's first solo offering and re-entry to the world of performing and you'll find the album "Three". A new maturity has soaked into his song writing and vocal delivery. And while he still loves the improvisational jams, this album is focused on concise song writing and story telling. He wears his influences proudly on his sleeve and you'll hear them clearly in his writing, vocals, guitar work and song choices both live and on the record. Echoes of Van and Otis cozy up comfortably with nods to Lennon, Dylan, Hiatt and Prine.
Josh is currently getting ready to record his next offering "Rattlesnakes in the Garden". A more electrified view of his rock sensibilities.
