Alan Ball, the Oscar-winning writer of "American Beauty" and the hit HBO series "Six Feet Under" and "True Blood", penned this audacious comedy revolving around a quintet of reluctant bridesmaids at a lavish Tennessee wedding reception. Taking refuge in an upstairs bedroom, each of the women is focused on her own issue playing out at the party below, but over the course of the day they learn that despite their many differences, they all share a common bond that runs much deeper than their identical outfits.
