"Femme Fatale": Solo Show an Ode to Seduction

It is said that there is no species more lethal to man than the "femme fatale" -- especially those that stalk the "boulevards" and "jardins" of France. But despite their fearsome mystique, these "creatures" of the imagination are little understood, much less appreciated. Now "Femme Fatale" sets the record straight. Fanny Chantilly, an iconoclastic "femme fatale", will tell you about herself, her life, her France, her body and her freedom of speech in a cabaret performance like no other. Incorporating antique frames and dynamic live video, dance-theater artist Marie Walburg Plouviez presents a solo show that evokes classic feminine tropes, only to transform them into icons of feminist empowerment. Steeped in magic, music, dance and video, this show is an ode to seductive people and alluring ideas. Get swept off your feet at The Ashby Stage.
