Folk Legend Arlo Guthrie Celebrates "Alice's Restaurant" 50th Anniversary Tour

A master storyteller, Arlo Guthrie's concerts are filled with wonderful songs, brilliant asides and amusing yarns from a life well led. When he was arrested on Thanksgiving Day 1965 for littering, there's no way he could've known the incident would inspire one of the definitive counterculture anthems of the '60s. But after he was kept out of the Vietnam draft because of the arrest, Guthrie, the son of folk hero Woody Guthrie, spun the ironic incident into an increasingly absurd 18-minute satirical talking-blues song called "Alice's Restaurant Massacree." Fifty years later, the song remains as vital, strange and moving as ever. Don't miss this wonderful night of music and memories.
